Hitachi TV that goes in Standy when you look

Hitachi has pulled out of a hat a peculiar Nuvo TV or rather a sensor accessory for TV that helps prolong the life of appliances and drastically reduce consumption. How does it work? Every time you looks away it changes the brightness up to trigger the screensaver.
Ideal for those who consistently falls asleep at night time and the other between a lot or a film or who might start watching a program and then move on to reading a book and forget the TV on. At CEATEC 2009 in Tokyo, they had seen a special sensor that can lower the brightness and then to activate the screensaver after a certain amount of time that you ignored the TV.
How could he? In the video below clearly shows: a sensor picks up the user’s eye movement by alerting the TV after they have passed a few seconds of no attention. Hitachi thus ensures that the bill will thank you and also the environment. It is unclear how it will behave in case of multiple viewers simultaneously. The basic idea is nonetheless appreciated.
