Rumors on the range of 2010 Sony LED TV

By

A while ago we have announced this news in the details of a possible agreement between Sharp and Sony to share LED backlighting technologies.

Well, here now a few unofficial details on the new range of Sony TVs that should be presented at the CES 2010 which will use its new-generation LCD panels, Sharp UV2A, together with LED backlighting.

Start with the series XBR11 (white LEDs) and XBR12 (RGB LEDs with local dimming) with backlight “Full LED (with LEDs mounted behind the panel) declined in models that will range from 32 inches up to 60 inches and should all be “3D Ready”.

From the point of view of functionality we find the BRAVIA Engine Pro 3, 240Hz Motion Flow circuit, streaming audio-video compatible UPnP and DLNA Ethernet and Wireless (depending on the model), 4 HDMI inputs (Type 1.4?) And USB for connecting external storage devices. As for the audio, this new series should be introduced for the first time the technology EMO (Edge Motion Speaker) of Emolabs: Classic transducers are replaced by the vibrating membranes transparent (a little style NXT) placed directly on the frame of the panel , with obvious advantages in terms of space and its aesthetic impact.

In addition to these two new series, Sony should then complete range of LED TV with two new model series called “Led Edge” (with LEDs emitting side): X500 and X650. We do not have the time further information regarding these two ranges. Always at CES 2010 should then be presented a new 21-inch OLED TV and the whole new range of LCD backlight “classic” series CCFL 6100.

After lots of research, it’s my belief that right now, plasma in most cases, handles fast-motion better than LCD.
