LCD TVs 32 “, five full-HD models compared(1)
ByLCD TV 32 inch HD-Ready or Full-HD?

Full-HD resolution, which is essential to realize the potential of media in high definition, is no longer reserved for those with space and resources for a large panel. Earlier this year, in fact, we had talked about the first 32-inch LCD TV Full-HD available on the market, the Sharp LC32X20. A few months later we can compare well 5 models of the same type. On the road opened by Sharp are included Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic and Samsung. But we must curb the easy enthusiasm and take note of the limits of these televisions. During our lab tests, we found some problems common to all Full-HD 32-inch panels. The effect of these problems on image quality is more or less marked depending on the model, but seems to have some traits common to all models, due in large part to the fact that at present there is one or two providers 32-inch Full-HD panels.
The first problem is the lesser wealth of red, visible particularly on the more saturated colors. This defect is most noticeable on the Sharp model, but is also present on the models Sony, Samsung and Toshiba. The second problem is the reactivity, similar on all TVs tested. The response times are quite good, comparable with the standard 32 “HD-Ready, but we observed contrails in more than one occasion, when a bright subject is moving against a dark background. Problems of this kind are usually related to the time of descent panel, probably more time than the panels HD-Ready, but we are not yet able to provide a comprehensive explanation of everything about it. The 32-inch Full-HD televisions are therefore less suited to play than the corresponding model-HD Ready.
All Full-HD, all equal

Considering the problems mentioned above, the old urban legend according to which LCD televisions are all roughly equal, because the panels that mount are all from the same factory in China, is likely to reconsider his foot. This story is probably the answer that you feel give, perhaps in a shopping center, a clerk willing to spend a little time, while his associate more closely, however, will tell you about electronics such as video processing element that distinguishes a good LCD television from a bad. We agree: the video processing makes the difference, and this is where producers make specific choices and different. Some, for example, favor a much sharper and less film, while others prefer a more dynamic performance but at the expense of color fidelity.
Finding a Full-HD model on a diagonal so small is a very questionable choice. The Full-HD is the format of the future, and watch a movie in Blu-Ray on a 1080p TV provides outstanding audio-visual experience, provided they remain very close to the screen. For DVD instead the situation is much less rosy, in fact, because of the problems of upscaling, the image is often not smooth and fuzzy. The 32-inch Full-HD it is not the panacea for all ills. Before you choose between Full-HD and HD-Ready, it should determine whether you will use most DVD or Blu-Ray.
