Want a TV connected to the Internet ?

According to Bill Gates soon will merge with television Internet. So spoke on the occasion of his participation in the tenth anniversary of Microsoft Research Asia.
It is certainly feasible but not an easy thing to achieve, and perhaps now is not even convenient to realize. Just consider that today’s consumers continue to buy high-tech TV, but to watch videos and movies from the Internet using a PC. There is a clear barrier technology to fill, and that can not be postponed. Interest in the Internet is very strong. Clear evidence that spending on online advertising in Britain has overtaken that of the commercials on TV, while a poll in the U.S. Integrated Media Measurement shows that now a fifth of U.S. television viewers watch the programs on the Internet in the early evening.
Italy has made a very questionable choice: focus on digital terrestrial. For now, the results do not pay and we are not differentiating by innovation. At the end of 2007, according to a Eurobarometer survey, only 8% received it (21% in France and Britain 31%).
Not to mention that in Italy almost 80% of homes still uses the terrestrial antenna for TV reception, almost double the EU average where 34% of households receive cable TV.
There is a desire not to be tied to TV schedules. There is internet, now you must also adjust our precious TV.
